Slowcoaching is the moniker of Melbourne musician and songwriter Dean Valentino. Drawing inspiration from artists like Wild Nothing, Beach House and Kate Bush, the project has long embraced hazy dream pop, with reverb-soaked guitars and angelic synth runs.
A notoriously bad sleeper and nervous wreck, Slowcoaching’s upcoming work captures the haunting yet peaceful moments between being awake and asleep - where old memories resurface, figured slink in the shadows and ego completely dissolves. It’s an era free from judgement, where the only goal is to create for himself.
On the live stage, Slowcoaching has supported the likes of Haley Heynderickx (USA), Spacey Jane, Tia Gostelow and more, while also performing at St. Kilda Festival and Brunswick Music Festival.
