Slowlife

Slowlife is the solo project by Patrick Behrens, a songwriter from Southern Germany.

He taught himself to record at home and after going back and forth for a while, he finally found the sound he didn’t know he was looking for. He came out with a set of songs that are featured on his debut EP called “Grey City” (2020), a reference for his former hometown, Hamburg.

His new single “Dreaming” (out July 20th) started out as a guitar-loop which eventually became a fully realized song. From time to time he would just noodle around in his bedroom studio & not work on something specific. But in this case, it’s oftentimes where a lot of ideas come from. “It was just an Instagram story long before I finally decided that I could maybe make it a full song”, says Patrick.
He finished writing the lyrics on a writer’s retreat at Lago Maggiore, Italy. “For me, this song is about these different kinds of dreams you can experience. Whether they’re nightmares, fever dreams or happy dreams that seem to be too good to be true”.

His music can be located somewhere between singer-songwriter, dreampop, indie and folk. It’s music to get lost to, music that urges you to enjoy the little things in life and to live in the moment.

The new single “Dreaming” is out everywhere July 20th.
