Australian indie-rock favorites Slowly Slowly are set to release their fifth studio album, Forgiving Spree, on January 24, 2025, via Nettwerk Music Group. The album features singles “Gimme the Wrench,” “All Time,” and the title track, showcasing the band’s evolving sound. Frontman Ben Stewart set out to create a “solid rock album with no filler” that’s tightly crafted, made for the stage, and explosive, drawing on influences like The Killers and Bruce Springsteen.
Building on the introspective storytelling and clever wordplay Slowly Slowly is known for, Forgiving Spree leans further into the refreshing pop sensibilities uncovered on their last album, Daisy Chain. Produced with help from Courtney Ballard (5 Seconds of Summer, State Champs) and Suzy Shinn (Panic! At The Disco, Weezer), and mixed by UK heavyweight Jonathan Gilmore (The 1975, Nothing But Thieves, Wolf Alice), the album represents Slowly Slowly’s most adventurous work yet.
Since debuting in 2015 with “Empty Lungs,” Slowly Slowly has grown from an indie band to a beloved name in Australian rock, with four previous albums, including Race Car Blues (#7 ARIA Charts) and Daisy Chain (#5 ARIA Charts). Their journey has seen them play major festivals like Splendour in the Grass, Good Things, and Groovin The Moo, and share stages with Red Hot Chili Peppers and Amy Shark. With Forgiving Spree, Slowly Slowly cements their place as an unshakeable force in indie-rock.
