Revisiting the dark grit of early-‘80s post-punk groups, Australian four-piece Slug Guts signed to Stained Circles Records, home to fellow Australians Eddy Current Suppression Ring, within only a few months of playing together. Their first album, Down on the Meat, was released in 2009. After touring Australia and Japan, the band reconvened in the studio for 2011’s Howlin' Gang, which was issued by Sacred Bones in the U.S. Their third album, Playin’ in Time with the Deadbeat, was their most focused and intense to date. It was released by Sacred Bones in the summer of 2012. ~ Jason Lymangrover, Rovi
