Society of the Silver Cross is a Seattle band, fronted by songwriters Joe Reineke (Alien Crime Syndicate, The Meices) and Karyn Gold-Reineke. Their sound has been described as haunting, hypnotic and even “yogic metal”. Inspired by the textures and tones of India, they weave drone-like chants and melodies throughout their songs, reimagining contemporary Gothic music by blending mystery, romance, and spiritualism into one evocative sound. Their latest album, “Festival of Invocations” (2024) has earned praise from Rolling Stone as "a sonic odyssey that leads listeners through otherworldly realms" and from SPIN as "an eerie, hypnotic spell pulling listeners into a dark, cinematic world."
Live performances include drummer Mark Etherington, Frankie Svobodny on Shahi Baaja and backing vocals and Stephanie Wood on gongs - adding their dynamic and captivating performances to the stage.
