Formed in London, 1986 by singers, twins Jacqui and Pauline Cuff and guitarist/producer Timothy London, Soho recorded nine albums between 1987 and 1999. They toured around the world and their final performance was on the night of the total eclipse on a cliff in Cornwall in 1999. Always Outsider Pop,, Soho nevertheless had a massive dance hit in 1990 with Hippychick, a song about a woman confronting her ex-boyfriend cop after being arrested. Hippychick was a million seller in the USA the following year, a viral hit that began after a single play on a Texas radio station was picked up on by listeners. Defiantly multi-cultural and unapologetically political Soho took a harder path, rejecting working with successful producers such as Trevor Horn in an effort to maintain a certain amount of independence.

Jacqui, Pauline and Tim still work together. In recent times J&P performed with Mercury award winners Young Fathers, live and in the studio, as the Leith Congregational Choir and with Moshi Moshi recording artist Callum Easter and Tim and Jacqui managed Young Fathers, Tim co-writing/producing all their albums up to 2016. Other projects: Yossarian, the iKlan collective and singer Law Holt.

Now back in London, Soho are still writing and recording. Tim has written/published five novels (Smith 1-5) and is currently finishing a new, semi-autobiographical book based on a year in his life at the age of sixteen, called In 1977.
