The 18-piece orchestra has been founded in autumn 2013 and has since made its mark on the Finnish jazz orchestra scene. Unique instrumentation combined with refreshing repertoire make SJO special among big bands internationally. Sointi Jazz Orchestra specializes in new music, mainly from the 2000's. In addition to its regular repertoire SJO collaborates with interesting guest artists, such as Marius Neset, Mathias Eick, Anders Jormin, VILDÁ, Maria Faust, Aili Järvelä, Juhani Aaltonen, Aili Ikonen and Jukka Perko.
