I am Kenyan-American rapper, singer and songwriter based in Los Angeles. I use satire and sarcasm to tell stories with my music in a genre called Happy HipPop,
a mixture of rapping, singing and talking. This makes me bold enough to express myself in my songs “I Can’t Adult Today,” and “Regular Black.” Yes, I had to write a song about adulting because some days it’s just so hard we all just wanna be kids again.
“Regular Black” is my story of growing up in two vastly different cultures- African and American . It shows how ridiculous it is to stereotype others and reminds me to unapologetically embrace my identity. I hope people can enjoy my music in clubs, learn something or just enjoy the humor.
