Sonny Greenwich Jr. is co-founder of the platinum-selling, Juno Award-winning Canadian rock band Bootsauce, established in 1989 & son of renowned Canadian jazz guitarist Sonny Greenwich Sr.
The latest album “Together Alone” was released on September 3, 2024, with the single, “Together Alone” featuring David Binney, launching on August 21, 2024.
His debut solo album, Auris Theatrum, released in 2020, features a mix of instrumental soundscapes and vocal tracks and is aimed at Hollywood.
Bootsauce was Juno-nominated in 1991 and won the Juno Award in 1992 for their single “Everyone’s a Winner,” a cover of the Hot Chocolate hit. The band’s albums The Brown Album and Bull both achieved Gold status in Canada. Additionally, three of their albums—The Brown Album, Bull, and Bootsauce—received Juno nominations. Sonny also won Producer of the Year at the ADISQ Awards for the album Sleeping Bootie.
In 1995, Sonny collaborated with his father, Sonny Sr., and Alan Baculis to release the jazz album Welcome Mother Earth under the moniker Meantime.
Sonny moved to Ireland switching from electric guitar to mandolin working with Corky Laing of Mountain, Eric Shenkman of the Spin Doctors, and the late Noel Redding on the album Out There.
Sonny & Darren Grimley recorded Virgil Kane by The Americhanics, produced by Jeff Martin of The Tea Party, in 2008.
