Sons Of The Kingdom

Sons Of The Kingdom, a vocal harmony group, arrived in Israel individually in 1974 and found themselves at the same kibbutz. Named by Ben Ammi -- spiritual leader of the African Hebrew Israelites of Jerusalem -- himself, Mahtsahel, Tsadekiel, Zahkahriel, and Khazriel were mandated to join the <a href="spotify:artist:1ffiyK3U9xoQzq4rY06WY5" data-name="Soul Messengers">Soul Messengers</a> on the road for their extraordinary talent. Ben Ammi had big plans for the Sons, presenting them as ambassadors for the community by taking their act on tour to the U.S., Europe, and Africa. The tracks they recorded during some Tel Aviv sessions would be issued separately on a format much more portable for world travel: the 45 RPM single. With sunny visions of small town life on “Hey There” adjacent to undrinkable water coming out of the kitchen sink on “Modernization,” the Sons&#39; first single flaunts its pro-Dimona stance. Still, the message is mostly secular and perfect for indoctrinating. The Sons Of The Kingdom left later in 1976, the first Black Hebrew artists to perform outside of Israel.
