South

Formed in Fort Worth, Texas, South serves as time machine for all things post-punk and post-rock, combining chaotic sounds at times in combination of convicting hardcore vocals with stark minimalistic moments.

South was originally a cover band starting in July 2024, consisting of Aspen Botero, Wyatt Wilson, Alex Sides (of <a href="spotify:artist:2JICQc89E6b5YTYkCzTqaB" data-name="change of season">change of season</a>) and Sawyer Harris (of <a href="spotify:artist:0JIq5WMhOBaHrmBe9HKNwf" data-name="Our Shape">Our Shape</a>). After Harris’s departure due to relocation, the band evolved into a trio before welcoming bassist Drew Starnes in July 2025. With this final lineup, they shifted their focus toward writing and recording original music.

With influences like <a href="spotify:artist:7Hvq85OU8T7Hsd63zNBwaL" data-name="black midi">black midi</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:4IwOItqRhsIoRuD5HP4vyC" data-name="Slint">Slint</a>, South strives to reimagine familiar ideas while keeping it new, refreshing and innovative.
