Difficult to define, yet instantly recognizable as a one-of-a-kind fusion of reggae, rock, hip-hop & more, these So-Cal locals have found a way to create their own genre of musical greatness: a truly Special Blend of Cali’s finest vibes.
Special Blend came together in 2013 with founding members Mighty on vocals, Jason Hernandez on bass and Tanner Paul on guitar. They were later joined by drummer Wolfy Keeney and rapper B.O.N.E. to form the current line up for Special Blend.
After their 2013 demo they debuted with their full-length album “Coast” in 2014 that brought their breakout singles “Irie Vibrations” and “Sunday”. “Coast” reached #1 on the iTunes Reggae Charts and stayed in the top 5 for over a week. 2014 continued to be a big year for the band as they headlined at House of Blues Anaheim and toured the U.S. that summer with the Kottonmouth Kings on the Summer Daze tour.
In 2016 they followed up “Coast” with their sophomore album “Pipeline” that included singles such as “Mountaintop” and the title track “Pipeline”. This album closely followed the bands break into the festival circuit when they won a spot to play at the 2015 Blaze N’ Glory festival along side bands like Slightly Stoopid, Iration, Method Man and many more.
In December of 2019 Special Blend released “All Wrong”, their first single in 3 years off their 2021 album titled “Summertime Hopscotch” which is set to release in April.
