Seed Caravan is a rock band led by an electric Oud
The flamboyant Haddab is there with his foot on the prow, firing lightning bolts from an oud - an ancient classical Arabic lute - amped up and pimped with leopard print and peacock feathers.
He grew up by the Mediterranean, an Algiers-born Berber who has lived in Burundi and Paris and for the last ten years, in Biarritz and Rennes.
Haddab had won an electric guitar competition in Algeria aged 13 before going to live in Burundi. There he played guitar in the school band, and musicians from the national radio in Bujumbura . Aged 16, he switched to the oud - the ideal instrument for freedom. For rock.
Haddab explored the world during years touring with his his different projects EKOVA, SPEED CARAVAN, DUOUD and so many other collaborations among others DAMON ALBARN’S AFRICA EXPRESS, RACHID TAHA or more recently IGORRR , MICHAEL LEAGUE 's BOKANTE..!

“The oud lets me play anything,” says Haddab, “There’s no fret; it’s open but you can also communicate rhythmically. It’s an instrument without limits.”
