Spinach Popeye was formed in 1996 in Medan and began to set foot on stage since 1997, releasing its first album in 2004 under the Moving Record Label which is Spinach Popeye's own label and was re-released by Tempe Quality Records (Jakarta) for Indonesian distribution with the title Album “True Oppression Is Right in Front of You”.
The second album also appeared with the title "Free Radical". Contains 14 tracks plus 1 bonus track which is also included in the Medan Teriak compilation. Recorded starting in 2011 and finished in 2024 under the Belel Record label, and in 2017 released a new single entitled Simponi Terbit Terang.
Having reached more than 20 years of age, it is clearly not a short time for a band to continue to survive, of course it cannot be separated from the encouragement of various groups in the music community and friends, especially underground music.
