Springstreeters

In the year 1980, a Williams student named Malcolm brought several friends together to create the Springstreeters. They took their inspiration from the main Street in Williamstown, Spring Street. The Streeters have seen a steady flow of new members since, even producing a few stars such as Chinese pop singer Leehom Wang ‘98 and broadway star Sebastian Arcelus ‘99.

We perform consistently throughout the year, hosting four on-campus performances and several smaller ones at the Clark Museum and Williams alumni reunions. In addition to our on-campus performances, we frequently venture off campus to sing with other groups. We have performed with groups at Bowdoin, Conn College, Middlebury and Amherst in the Northeast. Each spring we head out on our annual road trip, driving south and singing with several groups along the way. In the past, we have stopped at Brynn Mawr, Georgetown, William & Mary, and Washington & Lee.

It has been said, “Once a Streeter, Always a Streeter.” Our extensive alumni base is a testament to this phrase. The Streeters boast a loyal alumni base that spans several decades and returns to sing with the group at our year-end concerts and homecoming reunions. Many of our group members have remained lifelong friends and relish the opportunity to connect with Streeters both past and present.
