Formed when at school in Belfast, Kev, Tommy, Pete, Noel and Haydn St Vitus Dance played their first gig on the rooftop of the Busy Bee on the Andersonstown Road in West Belfast. From there they played to sell out crowds at the Orpheus Inn , Belfast Art College, Queens University, Trinity University Ball and the iconic Satellite Club in the Crescent Bar as well as other gigs across the North of Ireland and Dublin. Recorded Love Me Love My Dogma in Belfast with Maurice on bass. Moved to Liverpool in the late 80’s to sign to Probe Plus thanks to Maurice (home of Half Man Half Biscuit). Split up and Noel joined Echo and the Bunnymen to release the album Reverberation. (Look out for a special live rendition by Noel of that iconic album in the music room at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall in November 2024). St Vitus Dance reformed this century releasing two more albums, Glypotheque in 2008 and Bystanders in 2012 with line up Noel, Haydn, Phil, Kev, Pete and Dee. 2021 saw the release of the single Half Life followed by Get Along in 2022. Both were very well received. July 2024 sees the release of their latest single, the fabulous “Down to Size” a three minute indie pop classic. Further releases are in the pipeline for later in 2024. Please listen and enjoy.
