Singer-Songwriter Staff Brett hails from the Isle of Wight, UK. In 2004, aged 25 he produced a demo EP in a converted pig shed that had echoes of 70’s British rock band The Faces and subsequently setup his own label called ‘PIG Recordings’ in which he went on to employ legendary Rolling Stones producer Chris Kimsey to mix the album ‘Moodswings & personalities’.
The following year he put on a charity gig in aid of the victims of the Boxing Day tsunami and went on to play showcase venues in London including a stint on the Uncut stage at Guilfest.
After being asked to record an acoustic version of the Joe South classic ‘Walk a mile in my shoes” Staff highlights his distinctive voice which he claims is partly due to a prolonged bout of whooping cough as an infant. Undiminished from his responsibilities as a cabinetmaker with a young family, the songwriting continues. In 2022, Staff forged an international collaboration with former ‘Driver’ bandmate Pete Downing in Ireland to produce the heartfelt track ‘Amigo’ after the death of their long time friend and lead guitarist Carl Perkins.
The latest project for 2026 features authentic stripped back versions of previously unreleased original material and is titled simply ‘PIG Recordings’. Staff is always keen to collaborate and make his music available for licensing opportunities.
