The band destined for fame, and doomed from the start... is now back for their epic return.
Andy Meehan started writing songs early 2000. By 2008 along with Eric, Rick, Herman, and Trey, they did their first show as a blowout, at Dirty Jacks in Cincinnati, OH. Yet not long after, just as they were about to rise, the ever so often fate of many musicians crept into the life of Andy. As his alcoholism went out of control, the band was left in shambles. As he lived in and out of homeless shelters, rehabs, and even the streets, they tried to muster what they could out of Star Funk, and the music that they all firmly believed in. Eventually they had to call it quits. In the meantime in 2012, Andy found sobriety. As the natural progression of his recovery unfolded, his slow return to life, society, and music led him now. With a few releases throughout the years, brought him to a solo project in 2023. Eric, his lifelong friend made the suggestion to finally get the Star Funk sound out to the world. With Rick on board, the iconic sound that was never heard, is back and even better. Now they have their new release Forever. They are finally giving the universe, the music they believe in so much. Singing and playing from the mountain tops, that there is no age limit, or time limit on music. Especially good music.
