Stationary is the brainchild of Paul Vitolins: Audio Engineer, Musician, Professor and Dad. He based in Montclair, NJ, but often collaborates with his brother Eriks, who lives in Los Angeles.
Stationary means to be still, not moving, or stuck. These were (and still are) the feelings of our songwriter before/during/after each release. Paul uses music as a therapy to work through his frustrations and spin them out into a concise and often times, nostalgic tune. ‘Stationary EP’ and ‘Fell For It’ display the heavy influence of 90’s Alt Rock, teetering towards the “weird” that was lovingly embraced in that decade. Meanwhile, ‘Obroni’ draws on Paul’s experience visiting Ghana during his colleges years, fostering a continual love of Afro-beat and African funk.
Stationery’s next full-length album is currently in the works, expected to release soon.
Stay tuned…
