Steve Schultheis is a life-long music fan, guitarist and singer-songwriter who resides in Greater Boston, Massachusetts with his wife and 12 year-old daughter. While working as a high school math teacher, Steve spent 30 years writing over 200 songs. Like many a budding balladeer, Steve began honing his craft in the subways, then at open-mic nights at local Cambridge folk clubs like the iconic Passim. Finally, in 2016 Steve met another singer-songwriter, Myra Flynn, who encouraged him to finally record his music. She became his arranger and co-producer, and in 2018, Steve retired to pursue music full-time.
In a hard veer from his life as a right-brained academic instructor and with a fervor that bordered on obsession, Steve with his co-producer, assembled a group of passionate lifetime musicians to bring to life his self-written songs. He explores themes of love and loss, family, and human connection in his music, weaving in elements of folk, blues, classic rock, and jazz. From 2016 through 2020, Steve recorded 34 songs, resulting in the three albums: "Dreaming Awake", "Bloom" and "Back to the Beginning". Some of his many influences include James Taylor, Carol King, Cat Stevens, The Beatles, CSN and Dan Fogelberg.
These days, Steve spends his time sharing his passion for music with his wife and daughter—and watching countless Disney movies. He continues to write music for his upcoming project.
