Steven Cravis is a pianist and composer who scores for television, film, and the technology sphere as well as releasing new age piano music with a focus on meditation and relaxation. A Massachusetts native, Cravis began piano lessons at the age of seven and went on to study piano performance at the Berklee College of Music. Taking inspiration from the likes of <a href="spotify:artist:3jdODvx7rIdq0UGU7BOVR3" data-name="George Winston">George Winston</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:0YC192cP3KPCRWx8zr8MfZ" data-name="Hans Zimmer">Hans Zimmer</a>, he self-released his first collection of solo piano pieces, <a href="spotify:album:3YHmh78q7ca5B3fKjpoCgo" data-name="True Reflections ( Solo Piano )">True Reflections ( Solo Piano )</a>, in 1992. <a href="spotify:album:0BhFLIjeCcShd3mvRVfIwv" data-name="The Sound Of Light ( Solo Piano )">The Sound Of Light ( Solo Piano )</a> followed in 1995. Subsequent albums included 2004's <a href="spotify:album:3bW9weceNQvo4jy6GvzTGJ" data-name="Lavender Dreams">Lavender Dreams</a>, a 2007 set of <a href="spotify:album:1hgCprDTORPrziW8O9eIR9" data-name="Soothing Alarm Clock Sounds">Soothing Alarm Clock Sounds</a>, and Something New Under the Sun, a collaboration with vocalist Mark Stevens from 2009. Later that year, the solo album <a href="spotify:album:06XHYaSoZTVfs1aiqOa1qW" data-name="Healing Piano">Healing Piano</a> was entirely improvised on a Kawai RX-7 grand piano, while 2013's <a href="spotify:album:4YrwIdoZby47zlRBhG8VVP" data-name="The Quell Collection">The Quell Collection</a> consisted of music he composed for the Quell app. In the meantime, Cravis earned numerous screen credits, writing music for short films, games, and for networks such as CBS, Animal Planet, CNN, and the U.K.'s Matchroom Sport. In 2013, he released the collection <a href="spotify:album:58xwruPKKSGVpD0dPb8j40" data-name="Music for Film, Television and Games">Music for Film, Television and Games</a>. The solo piano album <a href="spotify:album:2D741VvnxbRELRExsvBimi" data-name="Cloudwalker">Cloudwalker</a> followed in 2016, and a year later, he provided the score for the 2017 TV documentary Going the Distance: Journeys of Recovery, about survivors of traumatic brain injury. ~ Marcy Donelson, Rovi
