Hailing from Sydney’s Northern Beaches, this alternative rock outfit started out in a garage when guitarists Lachlan Morison and Alex Gardner decided to learn the instrument. Born from a love of music, they soon added bassist Cooper Snel and drummer Toby Pack to keep the rhythm ticking. With a need for a front man, school friend and all time showman Jack Schuetz entered the picture, rounding out the band’s sound. With influences spanning from Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers to bands of the modern alternative rock scene these energetic mates bang out some mean riffs, beautiful melodies and searing solos. Their debut single Holding Out featured the band’s love for old school rock, mixed with a flare that can only be their own. And with the addition of their anticipated EP, the Salmons explored their growing appreciation for groups such as the Strokes and the Arctic Monkeys, exploring some heavier tones that are complimented by the soothing smoothness of songs such as ‘Stay’.
