Mário Dočekal, born in 1992 and known as Subtension, is a multi-genre electronic music producer who has already made his mark on the history of renowned global labels such as Ram Records, Critical Music, Neosignal, Flexout, Renegade Hardware, Cause 4 Concern, and Noisia's Invisible / Vision recordings. His tracks have been featured on international radio stations (including BBC Radio 1 and Noisia Radio) and in DJ sets by artists such as Pendulum, Noisia, Amon Tobin (Two Fingers), Mefjus, Roni Size, and many others. He has performed his project across nearly all European countries, as well as in the UK (including Fabric London and Berghain in Berlin) and the USA.
He is also a three-time recipient of the Radio_Head Awards, winning the statue for Best Electronic Record in 2018, 2021, and 2024.
His background in film sound has influenced his musical production, with many of his tracks incorporating cinematic atmospheres and soundscapes.
During the pandemic, Subtension released the experimental electronic EP Stranger, which integrated visuals with music, and in 2024, he released his debut electronic music album. Both won the award for Best Electronic Record in Slovakia.
In addition to producing and DJing, he currently runs a modern music school, LFO.sk.
