The Subway Bhaktis was born out of singer-songwriter Rachel Zinman's passion for yoga and music after she learned the potency of mantra from her teacher in NYC. She brought these chants home to her then-partner Nyck Jeanes, and together with producer Kamal Engels, they crafted timeless, heartfelt chants and songs that speak to the power of love, devotion, and surrender. Their albums, Rasa Lila, Sita Ram, and One Drop of Love, completed in 2010, are deeply devotional. They are the perfect accompaniment to yoga, meditation, or any moment of wonder and peacefulness.
Even though the Subway Bhaktis no longer exists as a partnership between Rachel and Nyck, the Subway Bhaktis lives on in new directions and new collaborations. Rachel continues to share in devotional yoga spaces, offering Kirtans in global workshops and yoga festivals worldwide. Her most recent release, A Cup of Tea, is a deep dive into the machinations of the heart—a new iteration of the Subway Bhaktis and a celebration of love and renewal. We hope you'll enjoy all our offerings and connect with Rachel via her socials.
