Jaya Lakshmi is a musician, singer/songwriter, yoga teacher and retreat facilitator.
She is known for her authentic and deep devotional spirit as well as playing an important part in establishing kirtan and mantra music in the west.
She began leading kirtan and writing devotional songs in the early 1990′s shortly after receiving harinam initiation from Srila Govinda Maharaj, a spiritual teacher of bhakti (devotion) from West Bengal, India.
Since her professional music career began in 1997, she has created 19 albums in the genres of mantra music, singer-songwriter and electronica.
A dedicated yogi, she has practiced hatha-based yoga since 1996. She is certified in Sattva (Himalayan Kundalini) Yoga).
Jaya Lakshmi has led spiritual music and yoga-based retreats since 2011 around the world.
