Sun Cutter (aka Kevin Pearce) is buzzed to announce the follow up to his 2022 debut, an Album of the Week on Germany’s Radio Eins which also charted in Apple Music’s Top 10 in two different album categories.
Chock-a-block with soul and folk-infused indie-pop, Jupiter sized choruses, and yearning, cinematic balladry, Sun Cutter 2 is a lament to turbulent times, beginning with a rallying call to shake it off and rise up.
“All together we will stand and fight the darkness that has taken up our lives” Pearce sings on opener ‘Union’ , which has been playlisted by Radio X and has also found love on Mark Radcliffe’s 6 Music show.
Featuring a collaboration with Slowdive’s Rachel Goswell, stylistically, sonically and emotionally, Sun Cutter 2 covers plenty of ground, offering hints of The Beatles, Leonard Cohen, Pink Floyd, Cat Stevens, Ennio Morricone, Neil Young, The Flaming Lips, Massive Attack and Low, with a shot of gospel for good measure.
