sunday works is an experimental indie pop duo based in NYC. A partnership between singer-songwriters Lizzie Ferrell and Jackie Simons, the duo uses the moniker to explore their shared love of French art pop, eccentric sonics, pastoral soundscapes, and shoegaze-flecked melody. Born of an enduring and spiritual comradery, the two met through shared musical circles in the Brooklyn indie circuit. Their taste for the witchy and oblique became the spark for their musical collaborations, which would coalesce in their first single release "Breaking Glass" / "Fleur De Lune".
Prior to sunday works, both members were involved in numerous other projects. Ferrell wrote and produced "The Garden" in collaboration with HitRECord members for the RECollection: Volume 1 (2011), which also featured Sean Lennon and Joseph Gordon Levitt. The track was featured as part of HitRECord's Fall 2011 tour. She has also contributed vocals for original music composed by Jonny Rodgers for the independent film My Brother Jack (2013). Simons has released myriad solo recordings to date; her song "Shining Light" was reviewed for Pitchfork by Laura Snapes in 2013.
