Sunny Bones are a UK based fusion of indie, dream pop, with strong lashings of country binding it all together. Brought together through previous music ventures, Helen and Ben’s friendship blossomed through touring, festivals and those long van journeys.
Growing up and moving on from their younger antics, Sunny Bones captures their personal growth and draws together their life experiences, hardships and self-development through unapologetic lyrics and honesty, laid on a bed of nostalgia from their country routes.
The Norfolk Duo became to know each other through their previous band ‘Box of light’ in which their friendship blossomed, playing festivals such as Lattitude, Green Man, Secret Garden Party to name a few, plus touring alongside acts such as Wavves, Beverly and finally with their own headline tour. When those days were over, they decided to collaborate on a sound that they thought was more to their taste, giving less of a shit about what was cool, they wanted to create music they both loved but that reflected on real experiences of growing up and relationships in your 20s. Having similar music tastes from artists such as The Beatles, Alvvays, Daniel Romano, Julia Jacklin, Best Coast, Zephaniah OHora to Classic rock in its entirety, they were able to create a sound that resonates nostalgia all whilst creating something new.
