Sunrise in the Desert

Sunrise in the Desert is the electronic pop duo of Tan Ciyiltepe and James Gadon. Featuring the single, 'Bang Bang', their self-titled debut EP is a combination of dreaminess and grit.

In August of 2016, 'Bang Bang' was featured in a CBC nationwide Olympic advertisement. The YouTube video quickly garnered attention and the song later aired on Y108 Rocks. With this momentum, Sunrise in the Desert were invited to showcase at SXSW, 2017.

In 2018, the duo released their single ‘Victory’ after receiving FACTOR development funding and their song ‘Tonight’ was the soundtrack for a film of the same name which premiered at the imagineNATIVE film festival in Toronto. In the same year, Sunrise in the Desert licensed their songs ‘Bang Bang’ and ‘Dance All Night’ for the film ‘Vox Lux’ and the duo’s single ‘Better Days’ was featured in the 2019 Season 2 premiere of the NBC Universal television series ‘Good Girls’.

Sunrise in the Desert released their 2nd EP, ‘Out of Your Mind’ on September 26, 2020 through Route 84 Music Inc. and the duo have three songs, ‘So Radical’, ‘1999’ and ‘Just Kids’ in the 2023 docuseries, ‘Six Miles From the Grand’.
