Hailing from Saarbrücken, Germany, SURRENDER THE CROWN aim to create something of relevance. Inspired by the music of their favorite artists - Alter Bridge, Disturbed or In Flames, just to name a few - they hope to inspire their own audience in the same way.
According to the band’s philosophy, feeling empowered, encouraged and, yes, inspired is essentially what music should be about. That being said, it seems to make perfect sense that their songwriting combines the energy of heavy riffing with the beauty of haunting melodies and a positive outlook on life.
Originally conceived as a studio project in 2011, SURRENDER THE CROWN evolved into a fully-fledged band two years later when their first album "What We Think Defines Us" saw the light of day. In 2016 their sophomore effort "Life Decides" showcased the band experimenting a bit more as well as developing their trademark sound.
They completely came into their own with the critically acclaimed "The Neverending Now" in 2018, which was followed up by the "Ready For A War" EP. The digital-only release features "Bring The Rain", their most successful song to date with 2.5 Million plus streams.
SURRENDER THE CROWN are Matthias Braun (Vocals), Patrick Meyer (Guitars), Oliver Quinten (Bass) and Matthias Schmidt (Drums). Over the last few years they have shared stages with artists such as Rage, Nazareth, Pro-Pain, Die Happy and more.
Their fifth album "Travails" is set to be released on September 19.
