Suzanna Son, a new figure at the intersection of cinema and sound, begins her debut music era with Pockets Full of Posey and Coraline, her first release under AWAL and the introduction to her forthcoming album. The songs mark a shift from years of shaping other people’s stories on screen to telling her own through music. Son first broke out in Sean Baker’s Red Rocket, which premiered at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival and earned her nominations at the Gotham Awards and Independent Spirit Awards. As part of the film’s release, A24 launched their record label with her haunting rendition of NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye”. She later starred in HBO’s The Idol, contributing original songs to the soundtrack alongside The Weeknd, BLACKPINK’s Jennie, and Madonna, before joining The Weeknd as a special musical guest on his record-breaking After Hours Til Dawn stadium tour. Now, Son turns fully toward her own music, with Posey and Coraline offering the first glimpse into her first album.
