Sweet Ignition began as the solo project of Michael “Cole” Gallup, a multi-instrumentalist and producer with a DIY approach to music. Rooted in the energy of pop punk and alternative rock, Sweet Ignition blends raw emotion with dynamic shifts between quiet introspection and explosive intensity.
The project took on new life when Gallup connected with Louis-David Tremblay online. After hearing an early demo of Lovesick - Original Version, Tremblay jumped on board, and despite the geographical distance — Gallup in the U.S. and Tremblay in Canada — the two worked relentlessly, trading tracks back and forth. Just 80 days after their first meeting, Lovesick was released on Valentine’s Day 2025, marking the beginning of Sweet Ignition’s evolution.
They followed up quickly with their second single, Turn (To Die) - Original Version, released on February 28, Louis-David’s birthday. Honoring a close friend’s request, they then dropped Turn (To Die) - Slowed + Reverb shortly after.
On April 5, their single Pantomime - Original Version showcased everything they had built so far, raw, human performances and a fearless, make-the-music-we-want-to-hear approach.
Now, Sweet Ignition’s self-titled debut EP is here. Released August 8, 2025, Sweet Ignition is a bold introduction, weaving together their early singles with new tracks that capture their energy, honesty, and refusal to play it safe.
