1978年静岡県浜松市生まれ。18歳でピアノソロアルバム『窓』でデビュー。国立音楽大学作曲学科卒業。映画『狗神』を機に、映画・ドラマ・CM・舞台など多彩な分野で活躍。
『64-ロクヨン-前編』『8年越しの花嫁』『護られなかった者たちへ』で日本アカデミー賞 優秀音楽賞受賞。Netflix映画『クレイジークルーズ』の「Reality」でFilm Tracks Awards 2023 最優秀フィルムキュー賞受賞。ジャンルを問わぬ表現力が高く評価されている。
『思い出のマーニー』は第88回米アカデミー賞 長編アニメーション部門ノミネート、『夜明け告げるルーのうた』はアヌシー国際アニメーション映画祭 グランプリ受賞。さらに『ChaO』では同映画祭2025年 審査員賞を受賞。竹内まりや、Josh Groban、LIBERAなどへの提供曲も多数。
Born in 1978 in Hamamatsu, Japan. Debuted at 18 with the solo piano album Mado and graduated from Kunitachi College of Music. Began scoring with Inugami and has since worked in film, TV, stage, and more.
Received the Japan Academy Film Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Music for 64: Part I, The 8-Year Engagement, and Mamorarenakattamonotachihe. His track “Reality” from Netflix’s In Love and Deep Water won Best Film Cue at the Film Tracks Awards 2023. Celebrated for his versatile musical expression.
When Marnie Was There was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 88th Academy Awards. Lu Over the Wall won the Grand Prix at Annecy, and ChaO received the Jury Prize at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2025. Also writes for artists like Mariya Takeuchi, Josh Groban, and LIBERA.
