Tal Haslam's new release "Kill Me Slower" is an indie-rock soliloquy for the common man. It's as diverse sonically as it is thematically, lyrically grappling with grief, technology addiction and desire.
"I tried to be personal, but I don't want to get selfish with the songs. I am more looking for the listener to own this record through their own lens."
His debut EP pulls from past Rock 'n Roll legends that might have previously lived in different lanes. The title track "Kill Me Slower" hearkens back to Pet Sounds and Rubber Soul production techniques while "Robot girl" feels like a frenetic mix of Foo Fighters and Pink Floyd.
Haslam's music puts a modern touch on classic sounds, with lyrics that wink at you while sarcastically bemoaning their own suffering.
