Born in Georgia, to non–musical parents, as a child Tamara Konstantin showed a keen interest in piano, so much so that at the age of five she was replicating complicated melodies she heard on the radio and TV. Soon after she was accepted by an elite music school for gifted children and went on to graduate at the Tbilisi Music Academy later briefly performing with The Georgian State Symphony Orchestra.
At this point Tamara’s career took a surprising direction. After completing a linguistics degree at Tbilisi University she became the first female political commentator on Georgian Television.
For the last ten years Tamara has refocused on her music. After receiving much musical acclaim and airplay for her first two albums and performing a special concert performance attended by HRH Prince Charles, Tamara has recently released her third album ‘Resilience’ (Lastman Music). Produced during a time of global crisis, ‘Resilience’ reflects the pain of lockdown and is a personal message of love, hope and affection to the people and places closest to Tamara’s heart. The new album demonstrates Tamara’s ability to speak through music and fuses mesmerising and passionate compositions with operatic melodies. It is a testament to her belief in the power of music to console, to uplift, and to bring people together whether in joy or sorrow.
