Singer/songwriter Tamara Walker came from a humble upbringing. Born in Ohio and raised in Maryland, Walker was the second of three daughters and grew up on the sounds of Elvis Presley, Tammy Wynette and Roy Orbison. With her musician/singing parents, music was part of a daily routine. So was an education. Piano lessons started at age five, and by 12, Walker was taking private singing lessons. This structure motivated Walker and she excelled in singing throughout high school, eventually earning scholarships to top-notch programs at Julliard, Berklee and Peabody. She opted to stick close to home, choosing Peabody; she would later transfer to Townson University where she'd earn a bachelor's degree in Music Performance. After college, Walker set her sights on Nashville. She had a secret dream to become a professional recording artist. She wasn't out there for long and she had a deal with Curb Records. She went on to sing with Bryan White on several episodes of the daytime soap The Bold & the Beautiful and appeared on the TNN drama 18 Wheels of Justice. Her songs are also included on the soundtracks to Coyote Ugly and Driven, but Walker made her proper debut in 2002 with the release of Angel Eyes. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, Rovi
