Tangerine Circus is a Mexican progressive rock band that consists of four members: Eduardo Mariné (keyboards), Francesc Messeguer (guitars), Luis Mauricio Sánchez (bass) and Daniel Hernández (drums), with vocal duties shared among all members.
The band saw its origins back in 2009, when Francesc Messeguer formally got together with Eduardo, Luis and Daniel who by that point had been playing in another band for a couple of years. Back then, they had a very clear purpose of forming a full-fledged progressive metal band, so they began writing material that eventually became part of the band’s debut album, ‘Urania’. In 2012, the band composed what would eventually become their second album, “The Conspiracy Chronicles”.
Then, in 2013 after a hiatus, the band decided to rerecord and release formally their first two albums. After a digital and physical release of both "Urania" and "The Conspiracy Chronicles" and touring Mexico in support of those two records, the band came back to the studio in 2017 to write and produce what would become their third opus, "A Brief Encounter With Myself".
After years of live performances in support of “A Brief Encounter With Myself”, the band released three live albums in the brink of the COVID pandemic, and after releasing an upgraded version of their second album, Francesc left the band. The band, at that point, composed what would become their fourth full-length album until it was announced, in 2025, that Francesc was returning to the fold.
