Tatsuro Murakami is a Tokyo-born guitarist, composer, and music producer whose work bridges Japanese and Brazilian music cultures.
After high school, Murakami moved to Brazil to study guitar and immerse himself in the country’s musical traditions. In 2016, he entered the Choro Department at the Conservatório de Tatuí, the largest music conservatory in Latin America, becoming one of the few Japanese artists to be embraced by the local music community.
As a solo artist, he has released five albums on international labels including Mystery Circles (US) and Whitelabrecs (UK). He is also a guitarist with Stone Music, the successor to Japan’s legendary experimental group Taj Mahal Travellers. In 2024, they released an album through Australia’s experimental label ROOM40.
