Debut album in the making!
Teo Sjolund (vocals/rhythm guitar),
Axel Olofsson (bass/vocals), Daniel Enger (saxophone) and Johannes Thessén (drums).
Founded in 2018, the Stockholm-based rock band released their debut EP “Better Days”. It can best be described as dreamy garage rock, evoking images of ocean, palmtrees and sunset.
Their debut was quickly followed up in 2019 by a double single, “Coke Float”, displaying an increase in both depth and dynamic range. The title track showcased a more laid back and melodic style — coupled with an addictive groove. Simultanoeusly, the B-side “Jealous of You” pointed in a rather mellow and jazzy direction, which was further realized on the 2021 EP “Lost Through Town.”
The three-way fusion of experimental 60s-70s garage, british 80s-90s gloom, and jazz, creates the core sound of the band. Fundamentally, the music is driven by Sjolunds rough, nasal — monotonous yet propulsive — vocals. Other distinguishing elements include the jagged rhythm guitar, the colorful harmonics, the dreamy hooks and a groove that manages to be both impelling and chill at the same time.
