Girl Racers

Los Angeles based Industrial Slacker Rock group, <a href="spotify:artist:2ZXlS1jzxYgUphkxVkSiCn" data-name="Girl Racers">Girl Racers</a>, launched in 2018 as an independent project in San Francisco. Ruben Martinez discovered the initial direction of the project indulging in inspiration from bands such as <a href="spotify:artist:2cvOvqNfn14qVRgGEw29PQ" data-name="Pardoner">Pardoner</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5UjbehtgZGbNmmanbVW9Bs" data-name="Forth Wanderers">Forth Wanderers</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6ozbYaDYh9AFYciPvk6iBO" data-name="Balkans">Balkans</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:25CgccXK9hJBTuaMF44zeR" data-name="SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE">SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:0x4xCoWaOFd3WsKarzaxnW" data-name="Frankie Cosmos">Frankie Cosmos</a>. Martinez spent the early stages of Girl Racers releasing years worth of solo demos before soon establishing the group. In 2020 their first single was released to major platforms. In 2021 the first band lineup created their EP, “Sometimes”. This EP was driven by inspiration from each band member and producer at the time. Curating a unique sound that is often related to 1990’s and current day indie soundtracks and artists. Presently, the <a href="spotify:artist:2ZXlS1jzxYgUphkxVkSiCn" data-name="Girl Racers">Girl Racers</a> sound models vague undertones of Alternative/ Industrial-Slacker Rock. Possessing big guitars, slacker rock vocals and a tuned down kit. With new members and fresh theories, upcoming singles and albums are expected to be just that.
