Teddy Mac (real name Ted McDermott) is a British singer known as "The Songaminute Man" for the incredible number of songs he knows. At 77, Ted began to lose his memory due to Alzheimer's disease. His son, Simon, realised he could reach out to his father by singing songs together and that his father could still sing the songs from his youth in perfect tune.
Simon uploaded videos to Facebook and Youtube of his father singing in the style of carpool karaoke to raise money for Alzheimer's charities. The videos soon became popular, raising over £130,000 for The Alzheimer's Society.
Their co-operation led to international media acclaim, a Pride of Britain award for raising awareness and funds for causes relating to Alzheimer's disease and dementia and a charity record deal with Decca.
In 2017, Teddy Mac released his first album, "Songaminute", featuring the Guy Barker Big Band Orchestra. In 2022 he released his second album, "Swing on Jupiter and Mars".
