Tego City (Born Daijar Walker on December 27, 1991), is a Dancehall artist and songwriter.
He was born and raised in Montego Bay, Jamaica. While spending his childhood and living with his aunt in Montego Bay, he would often listen to reggae/dancehall music on the radio and would sing along and DJ to the songs. At the age of 10, Tego relocated to Toronto, Canada to join his father. While listening to a reggae/dancehall radio show a few years later, he was reminded of the love that he once had for the genre. Shortly after, he rediscovered his talent of creating rhymes and lyrics. Upon doing so, he then focused on writing full and complete songs. Being mentored by Oniel Garvey (a music producer/singer/songwriter), he was taught how to improve on his melodies, vocals and stage presence. Tego then started performing at local and abroad events to showcase his talents and attract a broader fan base. He has performed on numerous shows such as Bus the all Canadian stage show, JamFest in Montego Bay, Jamaica and a sold out venue at Windsor Sports Weekend where he received a outstanding reception from the crowd. He is currently working on his first album, and hopes to create a fan base in Jamaica and be recognized globally as one of the leading Dancehall artist of this time.
