Los Angeles singer, songwriter, and producer, Teira layers nostalgic R&B, electronic, gospel, and alternative textures under folk-inspired lyrics. Her debut EP, "Vortex," floats between the secular and sacred. "S.Broadway," a left-field mix of dreamy vocals and winding chord progressions, highlights her inner world, from a crumbling swap meet to an abandoned baptism pool in South Los Angeles. As a child Teira sang gospel in church, then in her teens snuck into jazz clubs and lo-fi music parties. Vortex explores these sonic connections with the use of analog drum machines and synthesizers while taking cues from Joni Mitchell, Aaliyah, and Herbie Hancock.
