Terence Fixmer is a key figure in the techno scene, renowned for his innovative approach and artistic integrity. Over more than two decades, he has pushed the boundaries of genres. By skillfully blending hypnotic driving techno with EBM, he has been trailblazing since '98, which later became the Techno Body Music movement. Landmark releases on DJ Hell’s International Deejay Gigolos label bear witness to this, and are now classics of techno history. He cemented his cult status when he teamed up with Douglas McCarthy, the lead singer of Nitzer Ebb, to form the duo Fixmer/McCarthy. Together, they released two albums, including the iconic "Between the Devil," which remains a cornerstone of the Techno Body Music genre. Remixes for major artists such as Depeche Mode, Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, or The Neon Judgement continued to testify to Terence's legacy. Being a relentless sound researcher, Fixmer continued to expand his musical horizons. He developed a second sound signature, which pairs deeply atmospheric, introspective, and hypnotic sound sculptures with powerful-driving techno. Within a short time this has earned him releases on prestigious labels such as CLR, Electric Deluxe, Jealous God, Prologue, aufnahme + wiedergabe and Ostgut Ton, the label of Berlin’s legendary Berghain club. Eventually, Terence's avant-garde sound forge did not go unnoticed by the iconic Mute Records, where he released two visionary albums, “Shifting Signals” in 2022 and “The Paradox” in 2024.
