Lightning struck the moment Tess van der Zwet first heard Jacques Brel. This event ultimately drove her to form Tess et les Moutons. Since the band’s genesis, the music has not stopped. The essence of every gig is contagious, listening to the human soul as it is expressed in French chanson. With songs of Brel, Piaf, Aznavour, and Tess’s own songs, few emotions are left unexplored.
Motivated to share her passion and bridge cultural gaps, Tess released her first EP ‘Chansons pour non-francophones’ in 2017. In 2019 Tess presented her newest single ‘Mon Paris’ in Paradiso main hall to a critical audience of chanson enthusiasts. They approved.
