Thapelo Esau, a talented singer, songwriter, and producer from Vosloorus in the East Rand, South Africa, is making waves with this latest offering. “Music has always been a part of my identity,” says Thapelo. “Like most musicians, I too started in the church. It’s where my craft was molded, and I have always envisioned myself as a singer and all-round creative.”

Thapelo began her professional music career on the South African adaptation of Idols in 2017, where she earned a coveted Top 9 spot. Reflecting on the experience, she shares, “It’s something I had always dreamed of doing, and thank God I did! Idols was the perfect springboard for me to begin what I was born to do.” With a sound influenced by a rich cultural background and vibrant experiences, Thapelo is determined to make her mark on the music industry. “A lot is still yet to come from me. Cementing my name and voice has always been the plan, and it will continue to drive my passion.”
