I’m Benjamin “Hymnothy” Chase, but you can call me ThatsHymn — Imagine a kid with Jamaican parents, raised in South Norwalk, Connecticut, hearing nothing but dancehall and gospel at home and R&B/Trap in the streets... That’s the setup. The paradox: always trying to fit in, yet always standing out.
I make music for that space in-between — where emotion meets logic, and melody feels like a memory you haven’t lived yet. My sound is called “Riddim & Beats” it sits somewhere between Afro-Dancehall and TrapSoul, refusing to pick a side. I’m a phygital artist (digital + physical, you feel me), building multiverses in the airwaves with emotional melodies and lyricism that’s poetic but ferocious.
Knowledge is my fuel, faith my framework, innovation my playground. Every record I drop is its own little universe, produced with intention, tuned for healing, built to outlive me. I favour quality over quantity. Why? cause I’m not chasing trends; I’m crafting time capsules.
