The 40 Acre Mule

Howdy! We're THE 40 ACRE MULE, a 5-piece, powerhouse of vintage revival with a reputation for blurring the lines between country, soul and rock & roll. Most people say we sound like Texas...we'll take that compliment! Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Bo Diddley...they're all our heroes but we do our own thing, too. We grew up on old, scratchy country records, punk, jump blues, gospel and rockabilly and it shows in our sound. The five of us... J. Isaiah Evans: Guitar & Vocals, Robert Anderson: Drums, Tim Cooper: Bass, Chris Evetts: Baritone Sax & Percussion, and John Pedigo: Guitar & Vocals...put this thing together in Dallas, Texas back in 2015 and it's been full-throttle ever since.

We've played dive bars, honky-tonks and juke-joints all over this land. Cowboys to hippies, greasers to squares...they all dig what we throw down because it comes from a familiar place, roots American music. We're a good time...but just dangerous enough to make a preacher keep one eye on us.

In 2019, we released our debut record, GOODNIGHT & GOOD LUCK (State Fair Records). The critics dug it. More importantly, the people did, too. So, we hit the road, stealing the show at festivals like AmericanaFest, SXSW and Viva Las Vegas and sharing the stage with Charley Crockett, Old 97's, The Delta Bombers, J.D. McPherson, Reverend Horton Heat and more. There's a good chance we're headed your way. So, let's pop a top and do a shot. This might get loud. We're THE 40 ACRE MULE...Damn glad to meet ya!
