"If you ask either Sylwester or Mateusz, the two Cardiff-based brothers from Poland who formed The 93 back in 2017, what type of music they make, chances are that they will tell you they consider themselves to be a Dream Rock band. Not only would that statement be true but also very fitting, as they make the kind of music that could very well be the soundtrack to our dreams. Just listen to any of their songs and I guarantee you will see what I mean.
Named after the number of beats per minute (BPM) their first song had, The 93 started their journey with a clear idea of what their first few steps were going to be. They decided to tell a story in four concept albums inspired by the Stargate Universe: Time (2018), focused on feelings and our planet; Space (2020), representing our first interplanetary trip and imagining how the different stars and galaxies would look like from another angle; Light (2023); about an intergalactic travel with one single destination: Hope, which will also be the name of the last album of this tetralogy and will show us new beginnings and an evolved band that knows very clearly what they are and what they will do next.
Their music is not really about themes and messages, but feelings and emotions. It is full of atmospheric textures and captivating soundscapes that give their songs a cinematic feel capable of transporting us to surreal worlds we will not want to return from."
