The Benjamin Appel Sextet

Benjamin Appel grew up outside Philadelphia PA and started studying piano when he was 5 years old. He began writing his own music soon after and collaborating with his best friend Nolan Gardner. 16 years later, after studying at Berklee College of music and continuing his studies at the New School for Jazz, Benjamin brought his music to Nolan again and there was immediate electricity. Benjamin filled out the rest of his band with incredible new school musicians and formed a 3 horn sextet. The group has now released their debut album, Setting Sail and actively performs throughout NYC with numerous special guests. They perform almost entirely original music written and arranged by Benjamin and other members of the band.
